GOV UK - What to do when someone dies: step-by-step.

First of all, we would like to offer our condolences if someone you know has died. This will be an incredibly challenging time, where we intend to be of help to you.

The UK government publish guidance on what needs to be undertaken when there is a death.  They publish their information here:

What to do when someone dies: step by step - GOV.UK
Check what to do after a death - how to register the death, notify government departments and manage financial issues.
What to do when someone dies.

They split their steps into 5 areas:

1. Register the death

2. Arrange the funeral

3. Tell the government about the death

4. Check if you can get bereavement benefits

5. Deal with their estate

Each of these steps are positive starting points for you to consider.  Some or all of these you will need to undertake depending on how involved you are with the deceased's affairs.

Each step explains what you need to do via online services.
