Apply for letters of administration to manage the estate of the person who has died if they have not left a will.

Form PA1A is a 24 page pdf document, which includes 6 pages of 'equality and diversity questions' and 1 page of 'for office use only', leaving 17 pages to complete. Each page has boxes to complete on the left along with guidance notes on the right.
Form PA1A is for a probate application.
There are different applications for citizens only or for probate practitioners.
Guidance notes include a statement that legal advice cannot be provided, a helpline number, a suggestion to fill out the form online, payment details, a postal address along with various instructions on how to fill out the form.
Form PA1A contains the following headings:
SECTION A - Personal information: 1. About the applicant
SECTION B The information you provide in this section of the application form will be the basis of your statement of truth, and it will be stored as a public record.
2. About the person who has died
3. Relatives of the person who has died
4. Applying as an attorney
5. Foreign domicile
6. Inheritance tax
